height of summer.

August 17, 2011

lately, i’ve been finding myself in a place between wishing summer would stay forever and feeling giddy about the oncoming fall. part of the reason i love living in boston, is its ever-changing seasons. they are all beautiful in their own right, although maybe winter could be a little bit shorter. :)
i’ve always loved august. i think it’s because we’ve finally become adjusted to the heat and the long evenings of dusk. i’m trying to soak it all in — because the fall will inevitably come, and although i’ll welcome it with wide open arms (and boots!), i will be sad to see summer leave.

what are you doing to make these last few weeks of summer last? are you ready for the fall? xo

ps. if you care to see, i made a little video of our trip out to the pacific northwest!

  • This post perfectly sums up how I’m feeling right now! I’m so content with summer but I do feel a bit giddy about fall. I just really like chilly evenings with sweatshirts but i most of all love being outdoors at night (sans mosquitos) in summer. August is a great month but I can’t believe it’s already half over!

I also live in Boston, and wearing cardigans to work each day has made it sink in that summer’s coming to a close. I’ve been soaking it up with wide open windows, leisurely walks, and wearing dresses sans tights as much as I can!

  • Normally i am so ready for fall- yay for cozy sweaters and boots!- but not this year…totally not wanting summer to end!

  • Outdoors, I’m savoring walks in gardens and parks (in spaghetti strap tops!), and indoors, I’m catching up on blogs like yours and watching Sports Night on Netflix.
