a few snapshots from charleston (and a thought on balance).
it's been a whirlwind summer, and i am just starting to feel like my feet are planted in the ground again (and it feels oh so good). sorry it's been a bit quiet around here. just trying to find a balance between a hectic work schedule, traveling (which i love, but there's just something about being home), and lots of hustle and bustle. how do you strike balance? i've always been the type of person who loves being busy, but craves (and needs) time alone to rejuvenate. it's so important. i'd love your advice! bubble bath? tea? long walks? :)
charleston was a wonderful escape. it is always so nice to be in my husband's hometown. i savor watching him take it all in: his friends, his favorite foods, the humidity. his appreciation for all things - big and small - is one of my favorite qualities about him. and there is just something about charleston - maybe it is the wide open beaches, the sweet southern accent, or the way the sky feels so expansive - it certainly brings a rejuvenation of sorts. a thing i certainly don't take for granted these days.

lovely pictures
I've been running (very slowly) for about a year, I have to think about something other than what I'm doing because I hate it so much, I always get home feeling better

Balance? I'm not sure I've found that yet. I'm trying to make sure I have enough time for work, for my little family, for blogging, for friends. It's hard. But I do take some time to myself every few weekends and just try to do things just alone. It brings me back to reality.
Balance is not something I've found- it's hard! I'm with Helen, though- running helps me relax and refocus.
Hi Nals,
I looove the picture of the seashells spread across the wooden table :) I can't wait until the next time I get to tip my toes in the ocean! On balance, I understand where you are coming from, and for me it is so rejuvenating to occasionally spend an entire weekend day doing nothing... maybe making some soup, reading a book on the couch, watching a movie, and just letting the day slip by without making myself feel like I should be doing anything else or be anywhere but home. xo
what a gorgeous photos you are sharing here !
