what snow? matt's birthday was last week (if you recall, we love birthday adventures, as documented here, here and here) and to celebrate, i planned a little getaway to the central coast of california.

highway one was more beautiful than i ever imagined. every turn yielded a more stunning view than the last. our first stop off of the pacific coast highway was monterey. with it's yapping sea otters and beautiful harbor, we spent the sunny afternoon gazing at the water.

it was a wonderful beginning to a birthday celebration.
