the summer weeks bleed into one another and somehow we've landed here: september third. there's just something about summer - the childhood memory of running barefoot on soft grass, weekend travels, hot summer nights and early mornings catching the sunrise, and that refreshing first sip of a cold glass of lemonade. i love fall; it's always been my favorite, but i'm especially sad to see summer go this time around. it just seemed to be gone before it was really here.
and in that same vein, i've been pretty absent on this blog for the last few months. stepping away can be intentional - and so healthy. this time, i wanted to be here - to write, to share - time just slipped right out of my hands. but, now i can relive those summer travels by documenting them here.
this past weekend, we went down to charleston. i love everything about charleston - the idle spanish moss, driving home from folly beach - humid and salty and sandy, meandering through the beautiful streets of downtown and breathing in the floral aromas.
this last week or so, i've noticed a change in the weather. it's been a bit crisper as the sun sets just a tiny bit earlier. a taste of the south carolina heat was just what i was craving - that little reminder to soak this up. summer is still here - for now.
