Japan was always at the top of our travel list – but Japan with a baby? We weren’t so sure. When we were plotting our next adventure, we’d often dismiss Japan since it is expensive, far away, and now with a baby? Would it just be too hard? Truth be told, there’s no ‘perfect’ time to visit a place and when the opportunity strikes, you should take it.

Our Visit to Hakone and Mount Fuji

Hakone with babyAfter spending a few days in Tokyo, we hopped on the Shinkasen and headed south to Hakone. Many people opt to take a day trip from Tokyo to Hakone as you can easily catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji and then head back to the big city. We decided to make a stop on on our way down to Kyoto, and spent the night at the Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort & Spa.

Taking Stock / 2

Milo has been sick this week with croup. It’s so sad having a sick baby… and it makes me feel very lucky for having an otherwise healthy baby. It’s been a rainy and raw few days, and it finally seems dry out today. I’m excited to get outside for a little walk, and hoping that the fresh air will do us both good.
